2025 Tyler Center Network

In its second cycle of operation, the Tyler Center for Global Studies Grant Program features an exciting network of higher education institutions. We have partnered with twelve schools, representing a range of locations and student populations served. From Hawai'i to New York, from Florida to Washington, we are endeavoring to expand access to international research opportunities to even more undergraduate students this funding cycle! AUSTIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Austin Community College will be taking traditional study abroad programming to the next level, recruiting Tyler Fellows to propose research projects that align with existing courses offered by ACC International Programs.

FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

Florida State University has produced fourteen Tyler Fellows in its previous partnership with the Tyler Center. In addition to coordinating the Tyler Center consortium, FSU will be funding independent undergraduate research projects abroad this summer, mentored by FSU faculty.

JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY

Johns Hopkins University's Sheridan Libraries, part of the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences, will be funding international archival research projects. This effort will support humanities and non-traditional research career paths.

MONROE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Monroe Community College will be sending a group of students to participate in a photography research program in Paris, France this summer, with a specific focus to "inspire a generation of visually literate critical thinkers".

SUNY ONEONTA

With the Tyler Grant, SUNY Oneonta is expanding critical opportunities for global engagement on its campus, which serves a large population of first-generation students.

SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY

With overseas centers in Florence, Madrid, Santiago and Strasbourg–and more than 60 partnerships with other countries–Syracuse University will be funding Tyler Fellow summer research as a way to support global diversity and experiential inquiry on its campus.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA - SAN DIEGO

The Undergraduate Research Hub's Summer Research Program at UC San Diego will be funding Tyler Fellows' summer research while also equipping students with research skills and encouraging them to publish their research and pursue graduate programming.

UNIVERSITY OF HAWAIʻI MĀNOA

As one of the most diverse institutions in the US, UH Mānoa encourages student researchers to exercise the worldview of "aloha 'āina" (a love of the land). With the support of the Tyler grant and the established Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) on its campus, UH Mānoa's Tyler Fellows will be conducting summer research across the globe.

UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - KANSAS CITY

The University of Missouri-Kansas City–a two-time Tyler Center partner institution–has already sponsored three Tyler Fellow projects (Guatemala, Iceland, and Jordan). In the 2025 grant cycle, UMKC will be supporting its majority first-generation, Pell-eligible student population to pursue independent research projects this summer.

UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS - AUSTIN

UT Austin's Office of Undergraduate Research–in collaboration with its International Relations and Global Studies program, Innovations for Peace and Development group, and Texas Global–will be providing fellowship funding for student-led mentored research this summer.

The University of Washington is dedicated to being a positive force for change through education, collaboration, and engagement across cultures. UW plans to support global scholarship and research activities for Tyler Fellows on its campus.

WILLIAM & MARY

William & Mary, the second oldest institution of higher learning in the US, holds research as integral to the mission of the school. They will be selecting Tyler Fellows to conduct full-time research over the course of seven weeks during summer 2025.
